About me

I fell in love with Astronomy while gazing at the stars Hayo-Went-Ha outdoor education camp in Michigan, USA. Those northner hemisphere shapes of Cassiopeia, Andromed and Ursa Major followed me as I travelled North and Central America and throughout Europe. I was also lucky enough to teach Astronomy sessions inside the inflatable dome (StarLab). In 2001 I migrated to Melbourne and brought that Northern knowledge down under!

Backpacking across Australia and into the outback in 1999, I spent time under the darkest skies you’ll ever see and began to wonder more and more about what’s up there. During our extensive lockdowns in Melbourne due to Covid-19, I joined a regional community Observatory (Mount Burnett Observatory) and from there I’ve developed an even deeper love for amateur astronomy.

This website is to share my images, and the mini observatory photos I take from my home on the edge of Melbourne – the Yarra Ranges.
